Belle Sandella, RN-BSN
End-of-Life Doula & Life Advocate
Serving the greater Philadelphia region
My name is Belle Sandella and I’m a former registered nurse passionate about supporting individuals and families facing a health transition or an end-of-life diagnosis with warmth, compassion and insight. My mission is to help clients find the strength and personal clarity to discover how they want to live regardless of life stage or prognosis. Together in partnership, we will gently explore what truly matters to you.
It’s so nice to meet you.
Imagine if…
You had the ear of a captive audience who is all about YOU…
You had the freedom to access the deepest parts of your being
You could unburden yourself in a safe, baggage free, nonjudgmental space
You had your own personal care advocate and navigator
You could just focus on living and loving what matters to you
Making conscious life transitions
I believe that life’s transitions are sacred thresholds—moments inviting us to pause, reflect, and realign with what matters most. Too often, we wait until change is thrust upon us to begin this inner work.
When we get a diagnosis, we often feel backed in a corner, which forces us to make decisions under duress. In those situations, it is hard to really know what we want and it becomes more about the people left behind rather than ourselves, as the dying person.
My mission is to create a compassionate space where individuals can explore life’s turning points with intention—before they become crises. By engaging in gentle, contemplative pre-work, we become empowered to navigate this journey on our own terms transition into a meaningful act of becoming that is raw and real. It’s messy and sticky work, but it’s authentic.
Here’s what I can help you with
I have a unique skill set born from my professional experience as a registered nurse, hospice volunteer, mother, personal caregiver, and reiki practitioner. These skills allow me to bring clarity and focus to others when it is needed most. I have been caring for individuals across the life continuum for over twenty years. I am a trained and certified doula through the International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA) and the Center for Conscious Living and Dying (CCLD). I am also a member of the National End-of-Life Doula Alliance (NEDA).
It is my sincere honor to serve you and your loved ones with:
End of life plan management, navigation, and implementation
Care coordination (I am willing to work with the hospice and palliative care team to augment their care by providing emotional support, coordinating visitors, and organizing the space)
Education around end of life issues, aging, health and functional decline
Help with managing anticipatory grief associated with life transitions
Respite care (care for the caregivers)
Empowering caregivers to be able to serve their loved ones
Reiki
Vigil planning

No. Hospice provides medical care and clinical teams of nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains and volunteers. Doulas provide non-medical holistic support focused on comfort, presence, and emotional/spiritual support. Doulas do not replace hospice, they complement it.

When a client has an established medical team in place with a 24-hour hands-on care provider, I am more than happy to accompany clients along their VSED journeys.
